About the Compiler of The Golden Treasury of Puritan Quotations
I. D. E. Thomas
Dr. I. D. E. (Isaac David Ellis) Thomas was born in Carmarthenshire, Wales and served as a pastor in three churches there in his native land of Wales – at the towns of Amman Valley, Caernarvon and Llanelli, where he served Zion Baptist Chapel). Â Later in life, he devoted ten years to conducting preaching missions in Europe, the U.S.A. and Canada. He also served as a commentator for the BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation).
Dr. Thomas was the Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Maywood, California for over thirty years, and then Pastor Emeritus of United Community Church in Glendale, CA. He passed away on August 28, 2013. He was the author of A Word from the Wise and The Omega Conspiracy, as well as his most famous A Puritan Golden Treasury.
