About the Author:

Bryan Davis is the author of many youth fiction novels, including the Dragons in Our Midst, Oracles of Fire, Children of the Bard, and Wanted: Superheroes series. After working as a computer geek for 20 years, Bryan followed a dream to become an author. He began by writing a story to motivate his seven children to gain some excitement about writing, and that story grew into a novel. After spending the next eight years learning the craft and enduring more than 200 rejections from publishers and agents, he broke through with his best-selling series Dragons in Our Midst. He is now a full-time author and lives with his wife, Susie, and their children in western Tennessee.

A Few Testimonials:

“Six years ago, we were reading the Candlestone. We finished the couple chapters of family reading for the night, said prayers and went to bed. But I was so restless and couldn’t sleep. The image of the Candlestone’s torment alluding to Hell got me thinking about the reality of Hell. I was convicted that night that Hell was real, and a place that I deserved to go to because I knew I had sinned. So I went back upstairs to talk to my parents and they explained the Gospel to me. This time, I understood it, and I repented and put my trust in Jesus.” –  Megan C.

“I particularly love the Dragons in our Midst and Oracles of Fire series. You are a great encouragement to me spiritually. I say this because I read in your blog once that you do not think that it is right to read books in which the main characters practice magic, based off of Leviticus. I feel the same way and thank you for providing so many good books that are based on faith and a relationship with God. It is refreshing to sit down and read a fiction novel and discover that the characters are Christians and following God’s will in the stories.” – Steven W.

“I started reading them when I was in 5th grade and they really encouraged me to be modest, its sooo hard in the culture today to be modest and seek after God, and your character Bonnie really encouraged me. I feel like I can connect to her, my dad verbally abused me and my mom and left us, but when I was going through that your books encouraged me. I knew Bonnie wasn’t real, but I thought if she could get through it, I could too. Her heart after God and love for others no matter what was inspiring!” – Katie B.
