This inspirational story could very well be titled More Like Geoffrey, for the decisions he makes, in spite of the taunting and badgering that are sure to follow, prove him to be a person of great strength and unfathomable cour- age. The grip of peer pressure has no hold on him; to the threat of lies he will not waiver.

Filled with mischief, deception, and self-imposed trouble, Geoffrey’s peers might easily be seen today, instigating the same schemes, prompting the same predicaments, and facing the same dangers. In Geoffrey, however, there is something different—something true—that that they cannot ignore. His demonstration of bravery is quite beyond their comprehension. But when he must face the ultimate challenge, will Geoffrey remain true to the last?

“I was not anxious to read this book, because I’d heard it was a sad one, but once I started, I couldn’t put it down! This is one I’ll most likely read aloud to my kids (ages 18, 12 & 10). The lessons in this book are well worth the time! The emotions you feel are from anger due to injustice, to sadness due to one causing harm to another, to joy and relief! The writer, Evelyn Everett-Green, has done a superb job at arousing your emotions and making you sympathize with her characters; not just for Geoffrey, but the one telling the story and even the antagonist! Many great lessons in faith, courage, standing for Christ and choosing to do right even when “everyone else” is doing the opposite and criticizing you for your stand; not fearing to tell the truth and consequences when you don’t!
