The Good Father is a colorfully illustrated story for little ones, based on a story in Luke chapter 15, known often as the parable of the prodigal son. But it’s important for children to see that the story Jesus told is not only about the son who went off to live sinfully and then repented and came home; it’s also about the older son, whose jealousy and anger at his repenting brother was wrong too! He was sinful, but just in a different way – he was self-righteous and thought of himself as better than his brother and deserving of his father’s gifts! Learn from the errors of both of these brothers as you see their patient father!
