The Church

What comes to your mind when you think of the church tells a lot about how you believe God desires to be served. Jesus Christ Himself established the idea of a called-out people of God, who would gather and serve Him together, spreading the glory of His name and worshiping Him. Therefore, He has virtually all prerogatives as to how this thing we call the church ought to function.  It was He who issued that Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), declaring that His disciples should always be about making other disciples, baptizing them, and then teaching them to observe all that He commanded. When the first disciples had made disciples and baptized them, they achieved that teaching to observe stage by gathering those disciples into churches. There is where we learn together how to serve Christ and equip one another to do so.
