From the Scriptures, learn about the Christian woman’s first and highest duty, along with why it’s so important for wives to be “women of valor,” what it looks like to be a leading woman in your community, and what it means to pursue virtue when everyone tells you that sort of thing is no longer important.

This encouraging little book includes concise explanations, application questions and assignments that will involve and challenge everyone, and lots of biblical wisdom for individuals and groups.

About the Author

Nancy Wilson is a pastor’s wife and homemaker in Moscow, Idaho, where she serves alongside her husband Douglas Wilson at Christ Church.  She writes a monthly column for women in Credenda/Agenda magazine and is the author of Building Her HousePraise Her in the Gates and Learning Contentment.  Nancy and her husband have three grown children and 17 grandchildren. Their three children are authors N. D. Wilson, Rebekah Merkle, and Rachel Jankovic, also widely known for their books for children and families.

Nancy says that it was reading 2 Peter 1:5-8 that first prompted her to write this book on virtues, and particularly demonstrating how they build upon and strengthen one another:

“For this very reason, make every effort to supplement your faith with virtue, and virtue with knowledge, and knowledge with self-control, and self-control with steadfastness, and steadfastness with godliness, and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
