Down a Country Road: 52 Seasonal Readings

$9.75$14.00

God has revealed himself in two books: the created universe, which displays God’s power, wisdom and glory – and the Bible, which reveals the fulness of His will for mankind. In Down a Country Road, Eric Wright uses his great love of the countryside to bring these two books together, following the pattern of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who used salt and light, trees and flowers, weather and sheep to illustrate divine truth.

These 52 weekly readings bring to us his detailed observations of nature changing through the seasons and stimulate reflection on a wide selection of biblical truths. Snow and stones, animals and autumn, light and leaves, waves and weeds – along with many other aspects of country life – open windows of insight into eternal realities.

About the Author

Eric E. Wright was born in Montreal and grew up in Toronto. God used a Billy Graham crusade to challenge his agnosticism. After his conversion, God redirected his priorities from forestry studies at the University of Toronto to preparation for missionary service at Columbia International University in South Carolina. It was there he met and married Mary Helen. They both served with International Christian Fellowship (SIM) in Pakistan for 18 years where Eric co-founded the Open Theological Seminary and wrote six self-teaching textbooks.

Upon return to Canada, Eric served nine years as pastor of Long Branch Baptist Church in Toronto and taught missions at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Since 1991 Eric has served as interim pastor of a number of churches in Ontario and focused on writing. Six of his books, including Church-No Spectator Sport and Revolutionary Forgiveness have been published. He edits the Fellowship Baptist, LINK magazine. Eric’s sense of God’s creative majesty infuses much of his writing as does a deep desire to inspire Christians to live lives that are both biblically sound and practically godly.

Eric and Mary Helen have three married children, all active in their churches, and nine grandchildren. He maintains a website to describe his writing ministry at: www.countrywindow.ca
