His name has become a byword for faith throughout the world. In the early 1803s, George Muller embarked on an extraordinary adventure. Disturbed by the faithlessness of the Church in general, he longed to have something to point to as visible proof that God and Father is the same faithful creator he ever was. Muller supervised the building of five large orphanages, housing thousands of children, a testament to his generation.

A devoted man of prayer who only sought God to cover costs, he would under no circumstance ever ask any person or organization for financial support of the project.  Stunningly, this approach was more successful than anyone could ever have dreamed or thought possible.

Roger Steer is the author of thirteen books which have been published in well over a dozen languages – including his internationally acclaimed Inside Story: The Life of John Stott. He lives with his wife in mid-Devon, England, where he preaches, leads retreats and acts as a tutor to young preachers.
