It’s no secret that a lot of Christian bookstores have closed their doors over the past two decades. In fact, many of you may live in places where there are no Christian bookstores within a reasonable driving distance. That was the case here in Conway, where the last store closed its doors years ago.
That is part of what prompted us last year to go from the online/conference bookseller you have known and trusted for the past thirty years and open a small retail area to serve the local community. Until now, we have not advertised the store really at all—people just found us and shared what they found with others.
So today marks the start of the next chapter of the Grace & Truth Books story, and we are very excited to be sharing it with you! The space next door to our location has been vacant for the entire time we have been here in Conway. It is a mirror image of the space we are in now, separated by just a wall. So, after much prayer, we are expanding Grace & Truth Books into this new space. We will be tearing down the middle wall of partition and doubling our store space to allow us to better serve the churches and the people here in Central Arkansas.
I know the vast majority of you reading this right now don’t live near Conway—but our hope is that the Church from everywhere our website reaches will be excited to play a part in encouraging the body where our store has been planted. Often I read the news and see all kinds of things in other cities or states that I would love to be able to impact for the kingdom, but we simply don’t live near enough to help directly. We wanted this opportunity to be different.Â
So how can you get involved?Â
Most importantly, would you please pray for us as we embark on this new adventure? This is still a family-run business, with Liz and I and our fantastic son Kyle shouldering the load of online orders, book fairs, the current store, publishing, and now the expansion, while two of our daughters, Ayla and Brittany, in NC help with the website and marketing. It is wonderful and fulfilling work, but it is a lot! (Our eleven-year-old is a tremendous help too, but he is limited to the bookshelves he can reach!😊).
Consider a donation. We were inspired by another local business that expanded recently to create an opportunity for others to participate directly in the growth of Grace & Truth Books. So we have created a way for you to partner with us, and as a special thank you to anyone who makes a donation of $50 or more, we will give you a custom log-in to the webstore that will give you an additional 5% off all of your online purchases for an entire year!
If you are local (or passing through) Come Shopping! Since opening the doors to the public, we have had so many opportunities to meet local folks, helping them find Bibles, studies, devotionals, and gifts to encourage their walk with Christ. We are also here to pray for you and with you – one of the most amazing parts of what the Lord has been doing in our store is the number of folks who come in looking for things, but also find compassionate people who will stop everything and just pray with them. So if you need things, prayer, or both – come on in! Every purchase helps us bring in more resources for our neighbors.
Lastly, will you share our story and the opportunity with your church, friends, and on social media?Â

Thanks for taking the time to read this long post! We pray the Lord will bless you and your families. If you have any questions at all about anything, please reach out!
In His service,
Rick & Liz, Kyle, Ayla, Brittany, and young Christopher
