Little Olive Stewart couldn’t be happier now that Mother is back from India. But her happiness is soon to be tested when a fire destroys their home and belongings. There she stands in the pouring rain, watching over her siblings while her mother and older brother try to salvage what they can from the smoldering debris. As a test of faith, Olive encounters her first great trial.

Yet it takes more than a single tragedy for Olive to trust in her mother’s Saviour. Mrs. Stewart’s greatest desire is for her children to possess a faith that is their own, but how does she ensure her children possess this faith? That is a prayer yet to be answered.

With her beautiful journal, a gift given to her by her mother, she is encouraged to write about her experiences. Believing that there is nothing to write worth recording, Olive is surprised that every day is filled with new adventures, lessons, mishaps, revelations, and above all, a blossoming love for her Savior. Guided by her motto, “What Would Jesus Do,” Olive learns what it means to “count it all joy,” as her faith is tested.

This endearing story will draw you into the world of a little girl’s journey into womanhood, living out a faith that is her own.

  • A New Exposition of the London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689 (Rob Ventura)

We sold out faster than expected on this title! More are due in on 1/20/23.

For centuries, Baptists have published confessions of faith as formal statements of their beliefs. Chief among these is the Second London Baptist Confession of Faith of 1689. This doctrinal statement is a spiritual treasure trove worthy of our fresh attention. In this new study, more than twenty contributors unpack its timeless biblical truths, ‘things which are most surely believed among us’ (Luke 1:1). Our prayer is that the Lord will use this volume to richly edify and sanctify His people worldwide, and to assist the churches in pursuing biblical holiness and doctrinal purity. May these labors send God’s people back again and again to the Bible, which is—as the confession states—the ‘only sufficient, certain, and infallible rule of all saving knowledge, faith, and obedience’ (1.1).

  • By Faith, Not by Sight: Paul and the Order of Salvation (Richard B. Gaffin Jr.)

Drawing from Genesis 1:1 and subsequent biblical revelation, Lane Tipton argues that before creating the visible world, the immutable triune God created a heavenly temple dwelling, filled that heavenly dwelling with the unchanging glory of his Spirit, and sanctified that heavenly dwelling as the realm of everlasting Sabbath rest.

Adam, as the created image of God and federal head of his posterity, could have advanced through perfect covenantal obedience beyond probation on the mountain of God in earthly Eden into the heavenly dwelling of God in Sabbath rest. This God-centered and heaven-focused theological backdrop enriches our understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ, as the second and last Adam in the covenant of grace, who in his humiliation and exaltation has opened the gates of heavenly paradise for his church.

  • Drawn Together Under Fire (E.A Bland)

Who could guess that the poverty-stricken brother and sister in their mud-floor hut would one day be the instruments of care for the well-to-do squire? In this world of haves and have-nots, one thing remains unchanged: when Death knocks at your door, it matters not whether your floor is made of mud or gold.

This compelling story, with its contrasting characters and settings, brings all of humanity under the same roof to grapple with universal questions of love, fear, and most importantly, faith. Just as the Father made the sun to rise on the evil and on the good, so too did He send His Son to save anyone who calls on the name of the Lord to be saved.

This 80-page guide has been developed for parents and others in the church to help young people ages 11 and older who profess faith in Christ to examine themselves to see whether they are “in the faith” (2 Corinthians 13:5).

    Faith & Life (B.B. Warfield)

B.B. Warfield stands as one of the greatest of Reformed theologians. He taught for over thirty years at Princeton Seminary, achieving an enormous output of learned and massive books and articles in defense of historic Calvinism.

Faith and Life reveals another side of the man. Warfield kept up the Princeton tradition of Sunday afternoon classes with the students of the Seminary in which, in his own words, ‘the deeper currents of Christian faith and life’ were explored. This book contains some of the memorable addresses he gave on those occasions. Always based on careful use of Scripture (Warfield has been called ‘a master of the Scripture’s meaning’), they are informal yet restrained, urgent yet tender.

The learned theologian had a child-like confidence in his Savior and in the reality of his own Christian experience. He once told his students, ‘In your case there can be no “either-or”, either a student or a man of God. You must be both.’ Warfield himself was both, as these pages reveal.

Among the various subjects dealt with, two stand out: the work of the Spirit in conviction, faith, adoption, and prayer; and the need for true devotion to Christ and his cause.

Although, on Warfield’s death, Gresham Machen believed that ‘old Princeton’ had died with him, this book can help the type of piety, long eclipsed, for which Warfield stood, to shine forth in its fullness again.

  • I Don’t Have Enough Faith to Be an Atheist (Norman L. Geisler and Frank Turek)

To some, the concept of having faith in a higher power or a set of religious beliefs is nonsensical. Indeed, many view religion in general, and Christianity in particular, as unfounded and unreasonable.

Norman Geisler and Frank Turek argue, however, that Christianity is not only more reasonable than all other belief systems, but is indeed more rational than unbelief itself. With conviction and clear thinking, Geisler and Turek guide readers through some of the traditional, tested arguments for the existence of a creator God. They move into an examination of the source of morality and the reliability of the New Testament accounts concerning Jesus. The final section of the book deals with a detailed investigation of the claims of Christ. This volume will be an interesting read for those skeptical about Christianity, as well as a helpful resource for Christians seeking to articulate a more sophisticated defense of their faith.

    Justification & Regeneration (Charles Leiter)

The aim of this work is clear: “This book attempts to set forth in clear Biblical light the nature and characteristics of justification and regeneration, that God may be glorified and His children brought to know more fully the liberty that is theirs in Christ.” To achieve this end, pastor Leiter first sets forth man’s greatest problem, sin. Specifically, man has a “bad record” because he has sinned, but also a “bad heart” because he is by nature a sinner and can do nothing but sin. But the glorious news of the gospel is that Christ has dealt with both our bad record and our bad heart. The bad record has been taken away because Christ died for our sins, and on that basis God has “justified” us, which means He has declared us righteous. As for the bad heart, this is destroyed when God “regenerates” us; God changes our hearts so that we begin to forsake sin and pursue true righteousness.
