The Wanderer in Africa (A. L. O. E.)
Charlotte Maria Tucker (1821 – 1893) was a prolific writer and poet for children and adults, who preferred to write under the pseudonym A. L. O. E. (a Lady of England).
This is an amazing story about a young man who turns his back on his family in order to fulfill his lustful and greedy heart. Far from home, he finds himself in Africa, wasted and hopeless, until…well, of course you will have to read the book. But the main beauty of the story is that it is based on Psalm 32. Each chapter teaches and important spiritual and moral principle.
Character themes in this story: choices, consequences, obedience and boundaries.
